Our Story

This is how I started doing things differently.

With care, intention and community at the heart.

For a long time, pole events in the UK weren’t built with all people in mind. Access was limited, care was inconsistent, inclusivity non-existent and too many performers were left out or pushed to the edges. I knew the community deserved more.

I’m Jojo Fox, a neurodivergent, disabled pole dancer and performer. For a long time, I felt completely shut out of the UK pole competition scene. I had so many experiences where I wasn’t seen, wasn’t heard, wasn’t catered for, and most importantly, didn’t feel safe. I knew I couldn’t be the only one feeling that way.

The change began when I took on the responsibility of doing better.

In early 2023, I took over UKPPC, a long-standing organisation that supports a group of pole events in the UK. It has been established for over 15 years and holds a respected place within the community. I saw it as a huge opportunity to start doing things differently. To help shape the industry into something more inclusive, more intentional and more compassionate.

Glow was born from that vision.

It is now the biggest event under the UKPPC umbrella, and it is built entirely around care, accessibility and empowerment. From the very beginning, every decision I have made has come from one simple question: how would I want to be treated? Glow is not about ticking diversity boxes. It is about building a space where inclusion is the standard, not the exception.

Glow centres the voices and needs of trans and non-binary performers, plus-size dancers, disabled artists, neurodivergent people, sex workers, people of colour and everyone whose brilliance has been historically overlooked.

You do not have to ask for space here.

You already have it.

Where the experience matters as much as the stage.

As we continue to grow, we’re not just looking to go bigger. We’re looking to go deeper. Alongside Glow, we’re building smaller, intentional showcases where the focus is entirely on the performer.

These are not about the size of the venue or the flash of the production, but about the quality of care, compassion and support that surrounds each artist.

It’s about nurturing people into the performers they were always meant to be, if they’d only been given the right space, the right care, and the right chance.

Heat is our first-ever dedicated showcase event, launching in December 2025.

It marks the beginning of a new kind of pole space where the performer experience is at the centre of everything.
